Hello! I am Derrick Whitfield Sr.,

also known as the "go-to" Graphic Designer for unconventional brands. I have a passion for creative design, inspired by my love for comic books, pop culture, and Afrofuturism, which led me to create my very own art project called Afrodelic.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of collaborating with some incredible clients, including The House of Blues, BET, The 2021 Sundance Film Festival, The Grand Hyatt San Diego, The Hyatt Regency San Diego, TBN Christian Network, JESS SIMS - Peloton Instructor, House of Harlow 1960, and The Gathering Spot in Washington D.C.

I am thrilled to continue expanding my services to commercial brands and have set a goal to remove diversity barriers within the Graphic Design Field by forming my own design studio rooted in diversity.

My background in the United States Navy as a Personnel Specialist helped me develop excellent customer service skills, which have been a significant advantage in collaborating with clients from various cultural backgrounds.

It's almost like fate that I was able to collaborate with AVI-8 on a Tuskegee Airmen-based project, given that my first duty station was at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. I was attached to the F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter squadron, VFA-37 Ragin' Bulls!

I am proud of my service in the Navy, which allowed me to do customer service with foreign nationals, American service members from all cultural backgrounds, overseas, on the ship, even in the air! My time in the Navy has tremendously helped me with the projects I am working on today.
